The PARAGLIDING WORLD CUP ASSOCIATION (PWCA) is a non-profit association, which was founded in 1990, with the aim of organizing each year a competition circuit for the world’s best pilots, based on highly professional organization criteria. The standard was set by the World Championships held in 1991 in Digne (France).
The World Cup consists of at least 5 competitions held worldwide during one year. The association is financed from the pilots’ membership and entry fees, and sponsorship.
Paragliding World Cup events are opened to pilots who have been selected by the PWCA office depending on their ranking from the previous competitions (National Championships/Open/League or previous Paragliding World Cup ranking).
During each Paragliding World Cup competition, pictures, summaries and results of the day can be found on the PWCA website.
